CHAIRMAN – Dr. Umaru AbduL Mutallab, C.O.N., FCA, FCCA, FCIB
A professional accountant and banker of considerable experience, Dr. Mutallab had his educational and professional training in Nigeria, Ghana and the United Kingdom. He held senior management positions in the Defense Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DIC), and the New Nigeria Development company (NNDC), the development finance company of the northern states, (as it General Manager). Dr. Mutallab joined the Federal cabinet in 1975, first, as the Federal Commissioner (Minister) for Economic Development, subsequently transferring to the Co-operatives and supply portfolio, until 1978, when he became the Executive Vice Chairman (redesignated Managing Director / Chief Executive) of one of Nigeria’s “Big Three” banks, the United Bank for Africa (UBA),Plc. He retired in 1988 and has been fully engaged in business and community development pursuits.
Dr. Mutallab has also served on several boards, public and private, including as chairman of the National Electrical Power Authority (NEPA), as well as Chairman of the Nigeria bank for Commerce and Industry (NBCI). He was also the chairman of the National Revenue Mobilization and Fiscal commission. Currently, Dr. Mutallab is on the boards of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) and of several private companies. He is the chairman of Nigeria’s premier and largest bank, the First Bank of Nigeria plc.
He holds the national honour of the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) and the Italian national honour, Commander of the Order of merit. He is a Doctor of Letters (D. Litt), honouris Causa, of the Obafemi Awolowo University (O.A.U).
Dr. Mutallab has also served as the chairman of the Islamic development Bank (IDB) Scholarship Scheme for Non- member Countries.
(b) MANAGING DIRECTOR/CEO – Umaru Kwairanga Bsc, MBA,Acs
Umaru Kwairanga graduated in 1991 with B.Sc. (Honours) Business Administration from University of Maiduguri, in 2000 had his masters in Business Administration (MBA). He has had a rewarding career with New African Merchant Bank Limited where he rose from Banking officer to Head corporate Finance before Joining Incar Nigeria Plc in 1997 as special Assistant to the Chairman. He left Incar Nigeria Plc as Assistant General Manager – marketing in 2001 where he then Joined Finmal Finance Company Limited as the managing Director and chief executive.
He participated in a number of capital market issue, such as the First Bank of Nigeria Plc TCPC Offer for sale 1992, Unipetrol Nigeria Plc Rights issue 1994, Gamji Bank of Nigeria Plc offer for subscription 1994, First Bank Nigeria Plc Rights issue 2003 ,JAIZ International Plc Offer for subscription 2003 and Impresit Bakolori Plc Rights Issue 2004.
Kwairanga is a Chartered Stock Broker/Marketer by profession and member of so many institutions and organizations among which are Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, Nigeria Arab Associations, Institute of Directors and the Certified Pension Institute. He is also on the Board of Ashaka Cement Company Plc and Penman Pensions Ltd to mention just a few
(c) DIRECTOR – PROF T. A ADEBIYI
Professor Tajudeem A. Adebiyi is a professor in Economics and Board member of so many companies. He works briefly in Nigeria both in the academic and private sector. Presently he is the head of Treasury For Organization of Petroleum Economic Countries (OPEC FUND) Headquarters Vienna.
He was the Head of Treasury at the prestigious Islamic Development Bank (IDB) headquartered in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia up to 2002 before Joining the OPEC FUND in the same year in Vienna Austria.
He is happily married with children.
(d) DIRECTOR – HAJIYA BINTAH AMINU
She is a Housewife with three children. Presently a Director with Modular Aluminum, Kaduna. Highly knowledgeable of Finance and Information Technology.
(e) DIRECTOR – SULE KOFAR SAURI
Alhaji Sule Kofar Sauri is an educationist and was born in Katsina city Katsina State. He is now a Traditional ruler in Katsina State.
He is on the Board of so many parastatals and companies. He is married with children.s
